Well, I finally managed to finish my first piece in nearly 15 months. It was fun and went quick. This is a totally experimental piece. I worked on a smooth clayboard surface, which I'd never used before. The ink went on surprisingly well. . . almost too well in some spots. Also, I used acrylic ink for the background as well as Copic Sketch markers, some watercolor pencils as well as regular colored pencils.
I enjoy the play that it has with my other pieces "Stuck In A Moment" and "Kite"
I really like the structures and the colours on the background. The scriptures are so well done, I am really impressed how you spread the words in this piece!

Pure awesomeness. Very impressed.. 15 months to do this? You must have only spent a few minutes at a time.
The calligraphy is very sharp and clean. What kind of pen did you use, and what brand of ink?

simply amazing by all aspects.... above all totaly traditional not any thing digital .... calligraphy is also very sharp, fine and crisp...amazing. what is the acctual size of this work?
Thanks. Yes 15 months or so... I started the background. And before I could do anything else to it, I was fired from my job and had to concentrate on other things for a bit. Once I got the new job, it was touch and go for a while and never really found myself with the feeling that I wanted to finish it. But with the end of the year approaching, I decided to move my calligraphy stuff to my "study" where the atmosphere is much better than in my new "studio" and completed it over the course of about 3 night. Total time spent on this project was about 4-5 hours.
Also, since you ask, I used my old college pen (generic holder) & Brause nibs. I love those nibs. I broke one once and had to order a replacement from someplace in San Francisco. As for the ink, I use Winsor & Newton Designers Gouache. I have about 15 different tubes of it and mix my own colors - which is why they aren't always the same from beginning to end.
